The Purpose

class HelloWorldApp { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("Hello World!"); // Display the string. }}

For all you non computer scientists, that's basic Java code. (If you already knew what that was, lets skip the awkward silences and become immediate friends!)
I suppose that I should have made my first entry as an introduction, but as always is the case with me, I come up with  better idea than the original after I have completed the original idea. It's a quite complex statement.
Well, greetings; My name is Cliona and I'm about to embark on an adventure, so I created this blog.  I still am not entirely sure how to create a successful, or even a properly functioning blog, but I guess I'll end up with some wonderful mess.
Throughout the next year I will be doing many cool things and experiences "the real world" and I would really like to document this for Cliona of the future. That's the initial purpose of the blog. I have many plans and goals for the next year, such as going to concerts, getting a job, and even making my own computer science society at university (I hope to go to WWDC!), so we shall see how I progress with that. I always come up with these crazy dreams, I hope this time one may come true....
I'll keep you all posted!

Dublin

The time is getting close before I must fly the nest. Yes. The country girl finally makes her way to the big city -DUBLIN. The capital city of my country.

Facts:

1. There are over 1,000 pubs in Dublin to drink in

2. 10 million glasses of Guinness are produced daily

3. There are 1.66 million people living in Dublin

4. Dublin's O'Connell Bridge is the only bridge in Europe which is as wide as it is long

5. Dublin city spans 115 square kilometres

6. Spooky fact: Bram Stoker who wrote the famous novel Dracula, was born in Clontarf the title is said to come from the Irish words "Droch Ola"which means "bad blood"....(also the name of a great Bastille song)

7. The Phoenix Park is the largest urban park in Europe

8. Bizarre fact: Rock band U2 were given the honorary title of 'the freedom of the Dublin city' with this title carries the unusual privilege of being able to graze sheep for free in St. Stephens Green (a park)

1.66 million people, and I will be one. One tiny dot in the oblivion which is Dublin. 1.66 million. For a small town girl, that is a lot of people. I'd say that about a million of those are Spanish! Literally if you have been to Dublin you will know what I mean! (I can't complain). Dublin (apart from the weather) is more like Madrid!
I've always wanted to experience life in "The Big City". Such diversity, art, music, things in general to do. It is certainly going to be an incredible adventure!
